Word Maps
The word maps include synonym and antonym work, a real-life picture of the vocabulary word, a section for identifying the definition, and context sentence completion.
Level 1:
Students can cut out and glue items on their own, or items can be pre-cut. Students can also receptively point to the correct answer from the options on the bottom of the page. Realistic visual supports embedded throughout!
To differentiate even further for learners working on participation and engagement, pre-cut and present the correct items.
Level 2:
For the word maps, students can cut out and glue items on their own, or items can be pre-cut. Students can also use the words as a word bank and write in the words in the blank spaces, crossing them out as they go along. Visuals are only shown for flash cards and the main word on the word maps.
Level 3:
Students can write in the words in the blank spaces. Visuals are only shown for flash cards and the main word. Morphology information is added to the bottom of the page for students who are ready for that challenge or for teachers who want to expose their students to prefix’s, suffix’s and root words. It also gives scaffolding to answer the definition section.
